The Name of the Award
The name Nommo has come to be accepted by everyone in the Award committee and has been the basis of design and logo decision. Formally they are known as the Nommo Awards for African Speculative Fiction. The Nommos are twins from Dogon cosmology who take a variety of forms, including appearing on land as fish, walking on their tails.
