![]() How to Nominate and Vote for the Nommo Awards
Nommo Awards Eligibility
Works published between January 1, 2018 – December 31 2019 are eligible for the fourth annual Nommo Awards in 2020. Any work of speculative fiction (Novel, Novella, Short Story or Graphic Novel) by an African, published anywhere in the world is eligible for nomination.
The author of the work does NOT have to be a Member of the ASFS.
Only registered members of the African Speculative Fiction Society (ASFS) are eligible to nominate and vote for works. Members cannot nominate their own works. The 2020 Nommo Awards will be presented at the Ake Arts and Book Festival in November 2020.
Categories Available
The Nomination Process A work must be nominated by a member of the ASFS during the nomination period, which runs from February 10, 2020 - March 30, 2020. Please take the time during the open nomination period to compile your list of nominations and submit together (once only) using the form below. The five works in each category with the greatest number of nominations become the shortlist for the Nommo Award in that category.
Nominations for 2020 are now OPEN. If you are a member of the ASFS, please submit a nomination ballot for the Nommo Awards by following the steps below:
Once submitted, a nomination cannot be changed.
Nommo Awards Voting
Voting will open from April 1, 2020 to June 30, 2020, ASFS members will be able to vote for items on the shortlist for the Nommo Awards (presented in 2019). The work on the shortlist that receives the highest number of votes in each category will win the Nommo Award.
How to Vote
The voting form will be available at this LINK. All ASFS members will also receive an email containing detailed instructions on how to vote.
